From Lake Como to Venice

Our last trip took us from idyllic Lake Lugano via Lake Como to Venice. We spent unforgettable days with friends at the beautiful Casa Carlazzo (which can be rented, by the way: Casa Carlazzo), visited the legendary Grand Hotel Tremezzo and explored the picturesque lakes from a boat. After this relaxing time, we travelled on to Venice. In my illustrations, I try to capture the essence of Venice – the unique blend of tradition and modernity, and the fairytale magic that can still be felt despite the crowds of tourists.
I hope to inspire you with a few tips!

A few tips for Venice:

From the aeroplane straight into the boat

The water taxi departs directly from the airport, so the holiday begins immediately with a scenic ride through the Venetian canals. Through GetYourGuide, you can easily book a group taxi at affordable prices in advance.

Muro San Stae

One of my favorite spots – unassuming, but simply fantastic. Be sure to make a reservation in advance to enjoy the delicious pasta with pistachio pesto and scallops at Muri San Stae.

Aperitivo at the gondola dockyard

At the Osteria al Squero, you’ll find delicious cicchetti and spritz, but the highlight is the view: From the small wall, you have a direct view of the historic gondola workshop. Beware though – the hungry seagulls are also after the treats!
