Rome & Ponza – Italian metropolis and dreamy island life

Join me on an artistic journey through the ancient streets of Rome and the picturesque coasts of Ponza. In my latest Travel Diary newsletter, I’m sharing not only my experiences and insider tips but also exclusive artworks created directly on site. Let yourself be inspired by the beauty of Italy and immerse yourself in a world full of colors and stories.
Rome: Museo Boncompagni Ludovisi

The Museum of Decorative Arts, Fashion, and Costumes in a beautiful Art Nouveau villa was one of my highlights. No tourist crowds, and you’re transported into a completely different world: furniture, clothing, paintings, and sculptures from the 19th and 20th centuries.

Rome: Poldo e Gianna Osteria

Unbelievable but true: A Michelin-starred restaurant right in Rome with incredibly good food and absolutely fair prices. Definitely save room for the tiramisu! We got lucky spontaneously, and even the kids were totally welcome. You should definitely make a reservation at Poldo e Gianna Osteria.

Isola Ponza

The Island of Ponza was a lucky find on Google Maps. It’s easily accessible from Rome by public transport: first, an hour by train to Formia, then about two hours by ferry. Ponza is a volcanic island where mostly Romans go on vacation. Small hotels, deep blue sea, and plenty of time for aperitivo.

Ponza: Day boat tour with galley pasta

You can book day trips around the islands with the Cooperativa Barcaioli. We chose Ponza and Palmarola and had an amazing day on the boat and at a secluded beach. The boat crew even treated us to homemade pasta from the galley.
