50 hours and 4 illustrations in Florence

Finally — a short trip for two after such a long time! We’re heading to the beautiful Florence, and I took the opportunity to create some new artworks, with which I want to take you to the Tuscan capital.

In general, I am already impressed by the connection to the city. When traveling with hand luggage, you can reach the city center in almost half an hour, as the tram starts right in front of the terminal and takes us directly to the destination. Perfect if time is limited. Our short trip to Florence can begin!

Our destination: The Gallery Hotel Art by Lungarno Collection near the Ponte Vecchio. A small boutique hotel with charming rooms, some of which even have their own little rooftop terrace. What we particularly love here is the rotating exhibition in the lobby, which extends into the beautiful breakfast area. After breakfast, you can also easily get lost in all the art and fashion books – perfect inspiration for my illustrations.

A few tips:
  • Romantic Dinner: We treated ourselves to the Black Truffle Tasting Menu at Degusteria Italiana and were absolutely satisfied. What a beautiful evening!
  • Honest and rustic: Classic Tuscan cuisine and pizza: Le Antiche Carrozze
  • Flowers and coffee: La Ménagère – a very beautiful concept store we also visited on our maternity leave trip.
  • Lunch with a view: Picteau – An exclusive location with a view of the Ponte Vecchio.
  • Sandwich and Spritz: Just grab a sandwich and a Spritz to go from one of the many stalls and enjoy it in the squares around the Ponte Vecchio.

How do you like my impressions? I hope I could inspire you a little for your own short trip to Florence!
