Experience Farm & Wellness – Our little trip to the family hotel
When a big vacation isn’t possible, we are becoming bigger fans of small family getaways. That’s why the trip to the Family Hotel Huber in Vals, South Tyrol, was perfect for us. After less than 3 hours from Munich, it’s time for the four of us to recharge our batteries and enjoy.
The Family Hotel Huber is located in the picturesque Puster Valley, in Vals near Brixen. The surroundings are almost ridiculously perfect, just beautiful! After check-in, our two kids can’t stay in the room for long, and we head straight to the new, on-site adventure farm: forest playground, hay jumping, ponies, goats, rabbits, chickens – Wow! There’s something for everyone.
Luckily, the kids’ pool is designed in such a way that you can let the little ones splash around on their own while you relax on the lounge chair next to it.
As a hotel guest, you automatically get the Almencard entdecken/sommer/almencardplus.html, which allows you to use cable cars, buses, and many other services for free. With it, we went to the Jochtal and the local Adventure Park, where you can even take a stroll with a good stroller and keep the kids entertained at the various stations.
Another highlight trip was the visit to the Fane Alm, a rustic mountain village. In the serviced huts, you can enjoy a wonderful meal and, in some cases, try cheese made on-site or, of course, the incredibly delicious Kaiserschmarrn. Those who can’t manage the climb via the Feldstraße or Milchsteig can use a minibus shuttle.
Back at the hotel, the kids are already excited for the tractor ride on the trailer with Junior Manager Simon and the kids’ club, which gives us the chance for a pretty relaxed dinner featuring a mix of South Tyrolean and Mediterranean cuisine.
Another tip for you is a visit to the farmers’ market in Brixen. You can stroll through the charming little town and find countless small souvenirs and delicacies that you won’t want to give away.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that we’ve been to South Tyrol several times already. But every time, I’m amazed that we keep finding new spots and can reach such a beautiful part of the world in such a short amount of time.
