A romantic weekend in Munich – City trip in your own city
Time for two is often too rare in a family with two children! That’s exactly why we decided to take a “vacation” for one night in our own city and treat ourselves to a special weekend in Munich.
In addition to some sightseeing, we spent a night at the Mandarin Oriental near the Hofbräuhaus. A beautiful little break that did us so much good. During the day, we enjoyed the city at a relaxed pace, visiting places and corners we had never been to before or had never really noticed. From the Residenz to Odeonsplatz and the Theatinerkirche, then to the Hofgarten and back to Marienplatz. In between, we drank Prosecco and did nothing. Absolutely wonderful, our weekend in Munich!
Back at the hotel, we ended the day with a gourmet menu at the Matsuhisa Restaurant. Of course, we also treated ourselves to a nightcap at the Ory Bar and then simply collapsed into the soft hotel bed!
Conclusion: Simply enjoying your own city through the eyes of a tourist is wonderful!
What more can you say? We should do it more often, but then it would probably lose the charm of being “special” 😉 It was beautiful.
